*It's a nice day for a hunting trip. Mordred is still in human form, but his mind is reaching out to look for prey like the creepiest of spiders. Somewhere not far off there are deer, birds, other hunters . . .*

(So, what shall we catch today? There are humans near, I'm sure at least one of them deserves to die.)

I suppose we can compared, to where you hail from anyway. Although you're right we should look after the water we have better.

She starts to swim deeper, down towards the river bed.

I'm just looking around to see what there is. It's a bit too dark to see everything, though I think maybe that thing down there, right by the weedy thing, is a crayfish?

Yes it does. I am glad that it's only tiny, she agrees readily

Come on, lets see what else we can find, before he starts getting ideas above his station and nips our toes. she swims up nearer the surface, her hair streaming out behind her in the water like a long beautiful wave.

It does yes. I think it's pretty much the only exercise I do though She smiles at him through the water. I'm going to have to go and get something proper to eat fairly soon. That little snack bar can only last so long.

She raises her head above the water and the bubble is broken. "Okay then. I'm going to have to head back to the town to grab lunch but I can meet you somewhere or come back here."

She is standing on the bank dripping in water too, but shimmy later and all the water appears to be sliding off her and returning back into the river, leaving her as dry as she was before she went in for a swim.

"I don't see why not if it pleases you. It will help pass the time."

She glances up the tree and then back to Modred. " I can dry you off too if you like or would you prefer to dry Naturally in the sunshine?"

She can still hear the cries from Mordreds last meal for quite some time, but eventually silence falls and she assumes that she has either walked out of earshot or the hunter has died.

The walk to town does not take very long. She buys herself a something warming and eats it slowly as she makes her way back to the forest.

Turning the corner she spies the giant spider hunched over the remains of his lunch. "Hello, it's only me," she calls out loudly so as not to startle him. Although he probably heard her approach.

She doesn't realise that what he is doing is nodding but takes it as an acknowledgement and greeting all the same. "Jolly good." It still pays to be careful though. She licks some sauce off her finger. Sits down at the base of the tree to wait for him to join her, and finishes off her meal.

Sometimes his turn of phrase confuses her. She doesn't know if he means that he is glad she came back or he is glad to have met her in the first place.

"I said I'd come back didn't I?" she says, plumping for the first option.

In the background she can hear the sound of people making their way noisily towards them. Calling out names. Calling out the names of the hunters.
