*Mordred was getting used to having his own home. He was even used to the rather odd people who lived nearby, the Door to nowhere that he could open to anywhere if he tried and the rather odd geography of the area.

*Other people, however, would probably not enjoy walking in on him. If only because of the spiderwebs, the fact that his home was a cave in a rock spire and the unlikely canyon right outside.*

Covey puts down her cutlery and taps her tummy with a satisfied sigh. "I think I'm about done."

"No rush, take your time, I'm happy with my wine."

She taps her lip while she thinks. "I'm not sure. Is there a market place?"

You don't mind lookin' firmly at nothin' for a while?

They have a few shops, but most sell food an' the rest sell naught a non-local would be apt ta find useful. Not unless ya often have ta trap buga foot long at least.

"I don't mind as long as you don't think I'm being rude." It is true that she is sat, side on, almost with her back to him, to avoid accidentally looking at the meat on the table.

"So souvenir shopping is right out then," she laughs.

It's okay, sai; I understand. Few folken would feel good about meetin' a meal--that you withstand it at all be more than I could hope. I'll be sure ta get folk ya hate next time.

Any ya might get would be radioactive, cursed or both. Probably both.

Her mental image goes to her wearing a glow in the dark t-shirt that says I went to all-world and all I got was this cursed t-shirt

*He laughs, but sends back a much less cheerful image: a man half fallen apart, clutching desperately at a little stone animal carving that bites and struggles in his grasp.* Don't touch.

The image comes through loud and clear. what the heck is that?

(That be what happens when some o' the worst curses take ya, I fear, though things like that tend ta be saved for war.)

*He finishes his meal quickly, for her sake as much as his own, then stands and stretches.* Mmm, delicious. Should I take ya home, sai?

"I guess I probably should go home, before it starts getting dark. We still have a bit of a walk ahead of us. Unless there is something here that you particularly want to show me?"

Nothin' too special, sai. I'd be interested in seein' thy home in exchange, praps, but the chance be good 'tis just some bit o' river I would not rightly appreciate.

"It is singularly unimpressive, if I'm perfectly honest. I wish I could say I was a long and flowing river coursing through the countryside with glistening Waters, Gathering life along the way. But that would be a big fat lie. I am happy to show you my little springs though if you really are interested."

I would be delighted. My world hardly be the best either, after all!

"I'd say your world was a lot more interesting. And a lot warmer too. It'll probably be drizzling back home."

I hardly mind a bit o' rain, we don't get much in the desert anyway.

"The drizzle itself is lovely, but unfortunately it invariably is associated with cold. Anyway, we have to get back from here first." She puts her glass down and immediately someone appears and tries to refill with wine.

"Oh no then you. That's very kind but I think I'm done now."

*Mordred drinks the last of his lemonade and thanks the servers, then starts leading the way back home. It's a noticeably different direction than they entered the village from, but that's All-World for you.* Just follow the Beam, ignore the landscape.
