 *Mordred was getting used to having his own home. He was even used to the rather odd people who lived nearby, the Door to nowhere that he could open to anywhere if he tried and the rather odd geography of the area.

*Other people, however, would probably not enjoy walking in on him. If only because of the spiderwebs, the fact that his home was a cave in a rock spire and the unlikely canyon right outside.*

"I guess I probably should go home, before it starts getting dark. We still have a bit of a walk ahead of us. Unless there is something here that you particularly want to show me?"

Nothin' too special, sai. I'd be interested in seein' thy home in exchange, praps, but the chance be good 'tis just some bit o' river I would not rightly appreciate.

"It is singularly unimpressive, if I'm perfectly honest. I wish I could say I was a long and flowing river coursing through the countryside with glistening Waters, Gathering life along the way. But that would be a big fat lie. I am happy to show you my little springs though if you really are interested."

I would be delighted. My world hardly be the best either, after all!

[wordsofwater]

"I'd say your world was a lot more interesting. And a lot warmer too. It'll probably be drizzling back home."

[mordredeschain]

I hardly mind a bit o' rain, we don't get much in the desert anyway.

[wordsofwater]

"The drizzle itself is lovely, but unfortunately it invariably is associated with cold. Anyway, we have to get back from here first." She puts her glass down and immediately someone appears and tries to refill with wine.

"Oh no then you. That's very kind but I think I'm done now."

Say true.

*Mordred drinks the last of his lemonade and thanks the servers, then starts leading the way back home. It's a noticeably different direction than they entered the village from, but that's All-World for you.* Just follow the Beam, ignore the landscape.

She doesnt get it. Her head turns this way and that as she tries to take in the landscape. "I don't recognise any of this. I think this is the wrong way. Or are we taking a circuitous route back to your home cave?"

[mordredeschain]

Directions change here, remember? The only way ta tell where you be goin' be ta follow the Beam or ta teleport.

She is just linking her hand into his, partly for companionship, partly so that she doesn't accidentally get mislaid in this crazy land.

"Wait, what? Teleport from one part of the land to another. There's teleport stations here?" and are they stable....

[mordredeschain]

There are, aye. I wouldn't use them unless I was desperate, mind ya, or a thousand wheels from where I wanted ta be. Which comes ta the same thing in the end.

[wordsofwater]

"No point in my asking if we should take one to get back home then." Walking across the bridge hadn't been that bad, she's not desperate to avoid it.

[mordredeschain]

Aye, quite. *He smiles slightly and starts to lead her along the Beam.*

As they walk she starts rubbing her temple with her free hand. She's starting to get a bit of a headache.

[mordredeschain]

Are you doing alright, my friend?

[wordsofwater]

"Yeah I'm fine," she begins, then sighs. "Actually no. My head hurts."

[mordredeschain]

*He curses for a bit.* Any idea why? Too long in the desert, perhaps?

[wordsofwater]

"It could be that. probably I'm just dehydrated. I guess drinking the wine didn't help with that. Can we stop a second while I drink some water? I have some in my bag."

[mordredeschain]

Of course we can, sai. Iffen that don't help I'll even carry thee.

[wordsofwater]

"Thanks." She pulls her back pack around and lowers it to the floor, crouching as she opens the zipper. Her head feels quite woozy and the zipper sticks.

[mordredeschain]

*He helps her open it and hands her some water.* Share a bit with me? I can't deny that it is hot, say true.

[wordsofwater]

"Sure thing, of course." She takes a pull from the water bottle then hands it over. There is plenty to go round and she has a second bottle in her bag for later. "It's plenty hot here."

[mordredeschain]

I'd suggest we wait for nightfall, but night be nigh as cold as day be hot. I have bad memories o' cold.

[wordsofwater]

She's not sure which is worse, being too hot or being too cold. Right now she is inclined to Lean heavily towards too hot being the worst. "You're probably right we should get going. I'm just, not feeling great. Perhaps it would be better if you carried me, although I don't want to weigh you down."
