*Mordred was getting used to having his own home. He was even used to the rather odd people who lived nearby, the Door to nowhere that he could open to anywhere if he tried and the rather odd geography of the area.

*Other people, however, would probably not enjoy walking in on him. If only because of the spiderwebs, the fact that his home was a cave in a rock spire and the unlikely canyon right outside.*

*She is promptly offered the wine list. Mordred still counts as too young for wine, apparently, so he gets a strawberry lemonade mix instead.*

She doesnt know much about wine, so the list is fairly meaningless to her. She selects based on the name sounding pretty, and points to it. When the wine arrives it turns out to be a white, pale and floral.

*It's pretty good wine, as it turns out. Where it came from, God only knows.* Enjoyin' yourself?

The wine leaves a nice warm feeling in her tummy. "Yes, thank you."

Good, I'm glad. I brought ya here for just that reason, after all.

"It all feels a little bit overwhelming but I am enjoying myself so far." She takes another swig of wine and resumes eating the fish, there's no point in letting it go to waste and they went to a lot of trouble for her. " am I the first person that you have brought to your world?"

The first time that I didn't need the help, but not the very first.

She is surprised by this answer. "Who was the first?"

Some folken who helped me search Lud for survivors.

She thinks that he must have been brave to go out and search for survivors when his own survival is not even guaranteed. "Did you find any?"

A handful, aye. That was when I found the mad, deaf ones.

"All-world must have been a very scary place at that time,"She observes, "more so, i mean it's is a pretty dangerous place now."

Things be gettin' better now, 'tis true. Red Daddy bein' trapped an' powerless now helps a lot, even his most loyal admit that much. Whatever may happen in Discordia, the time leadin' up ta it be hellish. Especially when it be forced, as Red Daddy did, an' reality strains against it.

Lud's problems mostly be its own fault, mind ya, but the world movin' on hardly could've helped.

"Have you met him?"

Never in person, but I heard his bedamned voice on the wind that rolled out from yon Tower. It urged me on even ta my death; it set me of my path an' cared not iffen I was or wasn't able to travel.

"Goodness," she breathes. Although clearly goodness had nothing to do with it. Nothing at all.

Goodness is not a trait ta easily be found in either o' my fathers, I fear.

"I've been meaning to ask you about that. How is it possible to have two fathers? The more you mention it the more I've come to realise you don't mean one biological and one step father. Do you?"

A pregnant woman was possessed by a pregnant demoness. The two children became one child, an' I be twim. *He smiles wryly.* It's a bit more complicated than that, but that be the heart o' the answer.

There's silence while she tries to process that.

"Well fuck me." She says eventually. She knows that she should watch her language around someone so young but this is unlikely to be the most shocking thing the demon child has heard.

*He snorts with laughter.* I'd rather not, if it do ya fine, but kind o' ya to offer.

Covey flushes from her neck upwards, turns bright red. "I dddidn't mean it literally. Oh." Her hand clamps over her mouth as if to prevent any more stupid things from spilling out.

Aye, but it was worth it for the expression on thy face right now. *He smirks and takes another bite of his meal.* I rarely get ta see folken bein' cute, ya kennit?

Even though she now knows he was only teasing her it will take a while for her face to cool down. She shakes her head and laughs at her own silliness. it's a good job of person can't die from embarrassment.

(It would be such a silly way to die, yes.)
